You all were seriously my fairy godmothers (including Bev). I will be forever grateful for the time, effort, and energy you poured into me and my dress. I can’t thank you enough!

Tell us about your wedding!

Love and Gelato! Italy always felt like the perfect place for us to get married since it had played such an important role in our love story from the beginning. We traveled there several times together while dating and fell in love with each other and the country at the same time. We even got engaged there, so getting married in Italy felt especially meaningful. We wanted the weekend to feel relaxed, joyful, vibrant, and colorful, while still letting the beauty of Tuscany speak for itself. Flowers were a huge part of the vision, and I knew I wanted lots of color. More than anything, we wanted everything to feel warm and effortless, with good food, wine, and plenty of time together. Since almost everyone stayed on the property, the weekend naturally became intimate and unplanned in the best way. People would walk around the grounds, wander through the vineyards and olive trees, and start each morning with a huge breakfast together.

The morning of the wedding, some of us even jumped in the pool overlooking the Tuscan hills, which was such a fun moment before the day began. We also took a pasta-making class with an Italian chef, which was such a special way to spend time together and experience more of the culture and food we love so much. We welcomed everyone with a pizza party — fresh pizza, wine made from grapes grown at the vineyard, and, of course, a gelato cart from Vivoli, one of the best gelato places in Florence. It really felt like we were all living together in our own little Italian world for a few days.

On our wedding day, we had dinner outside in the vineyard with all of our favorite people, drinking wine made right there and taking in the magic of Tuscany.(there’s some cool drone pictures of this in the album) We also wrote and shared our own vows, which made the ceremony feel really personal. Since our grandmothers couldn’t travel to Italy, they each wrote us the most meaningful letters, and our mothers read them during the ceremony. It was such a beautiful way to have them there with us. We gave our guests olive oil made from the olive trees on the property to take home and ended the night with an Italian classic: affogato, which is gelato topped with espresso.
